Media Studies-My Product February 12, 2009

This term I have taken up the option of Media Studies. Media Studies is much better than I expected. It is fun and very exciting. Our first task in Media Studies is to design/invent something that hasn’t yet been invented. We then have to make a package for it to go in. After this we will make an advertisement of this and if so, maybe even put our video on YouTube. Our main goal is to attract young children especially teenagers so that we are able to sell our product.

In my group there are four of us. Ella, Morgan, Merlyn and I. The product that we have chosen to make a package for is called the Magic Wand. We decided to make a magic wand because teenagers sometimes tend to get a bit lazy, so what happens is whenever someone wantsto do something, all they have to do is just get out their magic wand and think of what they would like to do. And taadaa. The job is done. But remember, you can do anything at all with this magic wand, so we think that it will really attract a lot of people. Anyway, on the back of our product we are going to have a diagram of the wand on top and on the bottom we are going to have a description of what our wand is about. The description will be something along the lines of this:

The Magic Wand!

The magic wand is a two in one wand in disguise. It looks like a torch because it is one. On the top of the wand there is a little button which you can press if you would like to activate the torch. At the bottom of the wand there is a secret compartment where you are able to type in your password if you would like to use your wand. You can do whatever you like with your magic wand. Even go beyond the impossible. You can use your wand as a time travel machine, something that gets your lunch for you etc, or even go shopping without actually having to leave your house. As you probably already know, there are many more things you can do with this magic wand. The magic wand is the best thing ever. So go on and get one today. We guarantee you won’t regret it!

So I hope our product will be a success. Wish us luck!

That’s alright Naveen you don’t need to aplogogise!!

Yep TAI’s still gong pretty well. I really want to get Class Councillor/House Captain! We find out this Friday but I don’t know if I can wait that long!!

What did Sacred Heart get up to today?? All we did was assembly, tests, inquiry and lab! But no PE =[.

   4. meganbe3 - February 16, 2009

Hey Naveen!!!!
TAI is great I also going for Class Councilor/House Captain I cant wait to find out who gets the roles. We have been doing soooooooo many tests I forgot how many we did last year, it seems never ending!! I can imagine how confusing Sacred Heart must be I got so lost at T.A.I at the start of last year!! What other subjects are you doing?????

   5. Hayley - February 17, 2009

Whoops sorry about the typos in my last comment haha. Yep I will definitely keep you posted! We had inter-school swimming trials today but I did rather horribly so I’m not sure if I got in! There are some more trials tomorrow though, so wish me luck! I think we’re also going to the museum for inquiry research.

Its just about comparing life today with the late 50’s/ early 60’s. (Based around the 50th Jubilee) The museum trip was pretty cool it was all about changing fashions! Lol.

We found out today that the Class Councillors and everything won’t be announced until next Monday!! Grr 3 extra days to wait haha.

   7. Alex - February 18, 2009

Hi Naveen,
Sounds like you’re enjoying Sacred Heart. I hope I get Class Councillor, but we don’t find out until Monday!! I really hope I get it though. It’s unfair cos almost all the other classes know who their Class councillor is but we have to wait!!

schools been pretty good, but it’s weird that were the year 8’s. It feels like we are year 7’s but were not. Bridie’s still the same except she got a new friend now… Kara and Kara is basically Bridie’s clone (but they don’t look the same of course)! Lol

That project thing you’re doing actually sounds pretty cool. in woodwork we are making souvenirs for the 50th jubilee and we are going to sell them. we haven’t started yet tho.

seya l8r bye =]

Room Three is also cool and the yr7’s are getting less and less shy!! I don’t know how good or chance for softball is though!!

Hey again!

Yep it feels great being councillor! I had one of my first jobs today- I had to collect everybody’s gold coins for mufti day and tick their names off. It wasn’t exactly hard, but still yay! The councillors also had our first meeting yesterday but I didn’t stay for the whole thing because I had to go to softball. Oh and sorry I didn’t call back yesterday- I tried but the phone was engaged! Anyways, how is that Media Studies project going?

   12. Alex - February 24, 2009

Hey Naveen,
Haven’t heard from you for a while, but I know you have the time because you have had the time to comment back on Hayley’s blog. That was on Monday and I commented on Thursday.

Last Friday Nicky and I had to go get the classes for school photos and at morning tea, Mr McCabe came in with morning tea for us! It was lollies, sausage rolls, sandwiches and a slice! It was yummy! Then yesterday he wanted to talk to us and he gave us a canteen voucher! Also I am on dishes and Mr McCabe gave me and Bridie 2 chocolate bars each!!

How is your media studies project going. It sounds like heaps of fun. Are you friends with your old best friend? Have you made any new friends?
Please comment back…

We had our first mufti day yesterday, and I learnt how to dive!! So I have to dive properly on Friday. Ahhh I like swimming but not swimming races! Eek so I gotta practice for Friday.

Hey naveen
We have been doing visual language and have finnished all our tests. For the visual language we had to do a static Image on your life and an i wonder on what you wonder about. You also have to do a life around her project, but I don’t really get that one. So what are you up to at Sacred heart? Um I’ve sent in my head student letter and There are interviews on tuesday and wednesday. Do you have councilllors and head students there?

Heyy don’t worry about that comment stuff k? Wow Media studies sounds pretty different to other subjects. It sounds like you can be quite creative too. Oh and just so you know, Hayley and Nicole got head student. But I think you already know that. Anyway goodluck with your product and everything!

P.S: College is really good. We’ve done some really fun things!

   20. Hayley - March 10, 2009

Hi!!!!!!!

Thank you! Yes is it very exciting being Head Student! Do you have any tips about writing speeches, being good, saying hi to Mr McCabe etc….

Thanks! Lol. Our first job is to write a speech for the assembly in 2 weeks. A lady came in today and asked us some questions and took pictures etc but I’m not sure what that was all for!
